Overview

The cafe is open during the day and serves meals, sandwiches, cake, scones and hot and cold drinks. It has indoor and outdoor siting and is located in a little courtyard.

Transport & Parking

Sidmouth doesn't have a railway station. The 9 or 9A bus from Exeter takes about 35 - 45 minutes and stops at the Sidmouth Triangle. It would be a 3 - 5 minute walk from the bus stop to the cafe.

Access

This café is tucked away in a hidden courtyard just moments from the sea front and is well worth seeking out. It’s surrounded by a few independent shops and studios. There’s two entrances to Libra Court, one is in York Street and the other is a little covered alleyway directly opposite the junction of Fore Street and New Street. It was a little tricky to find the first time but it is worth making the effort. The courtyard and the café are step free but there is loose gravel flooring in the courtyard. The table and chairs are free standing.

Toilets

There is a toilet as I was aware that other people went to use it. However I don't know if the toilet was accessible. However there are a couple of accessible public toilets, which require a radar key within a couple of minutes walk.

Staff

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was very efficient.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I visited twice during my holiday as I loved it and the food was delicious both times. On my first visit I had their cream tea. It was served with a large, warm homemade scone and was served with a very generous portion of strawberry jam and clotted cream and there was a choice of tea, so I had ginger. On my second visit I had lunch of a brie and cranberry sandwich, which was served with a green salad. The food was beautifully presented. The café has a charming, vintage style. It’s a real find and highly recommend.
