Overview
Seescape, formerly known as Fife Society for the Blind, provide services such as mobility, independent living skills, habilitation and technology training for blind and partially sighted people in Fife. I was invited along to trial their indoor navigation system using the Blindsquare app. They also ha e the Neatebox Welcome app installed so I was met upon my arrival, they knew in advance why I was coming and who I was meeting.
Transport & Parking
Seescape is on a bus route within Kirkcaldy and relatively close to Kirkcaldy train station. There are disabled parking spaces, and also a designated drop off/pick up point at the door.
Access
Disabled access to the building is excellent. There is a wheelchair ramp to the entrance of the building and an accessible lift to the first floor as well. Seescape also have Welcome app by Neatebox installed at their premises so you can let them know of your support needs and access requirements in advance. Blindsquare indoor navigation system is also available at Seescape so using the free Blindsquare Event app you can independently navigate around the building if you are blind or partially sighted.
Toilets
There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor beside the reception area.
Staff
Seescape staff are all extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
