Overview

To begin with, the sign board said Guaranteed 100% Vegan, it immediately raised my curiosity and I was welcomed in, the owner having noticed my symbol cane and asked if I required guidance to a table or if I had a preference where to sit, he explained there was an access available toilet at the rear of the cafe. I was asked if I had sampled Vegan produce before, would I like an explanation of the menu content and the ingredients. I am pleased I had said yes, not knowingly having had vegan foods before. Not only was the Carrot cake the coffee and the oat milk fantastic but it was a whole new taste bud experience. The owner was training a new employee and the care, diligence, attention to detail and emphasis on customer service as well as the products was lovely and reassuring to hear. Afterwards I could strongly sense that the owner practiced what he preached and I said I would return very soon.

Transport & Parking

Bruntsfield is a residential area in the south west of the City adjacent to Napier University, it has a service of six buses one every 4 minutes - 11, 15, 16, 23, 36 and 45. All Edinburgh buses have drop down floors, extended ramps and wheelchair access space, 5 priority seats and easy access button bells for stopping. As with any old City parking is at a premium, there are pay spaces and specific areas for blue badge holders. The nearest bus stop to Seeds for the Soul is northbound 30m towards the City and 50m south boundleaving the City.

Access

A small step into the cafe, the owner said he would consider provision of a ramp if required. Plenty space inside, tables and chairs would be moved needed. The toilet, very clean, small but well serviced and provisioned, not wheelchair suited.

No steps, adequate access, very clean, well lit and provided, the owner said he would consider further improvements.

Staff

As said above the owner practiced what he preached and his passing on of this and his demeanour and expectations what positive.

Very pleased my curiosity was raised, Iearnned something new but probably though not appreciatedbefore, the produce and the service I would highly recommend. It was positive to hear the owner say the he had food for thought in our chat on further inclusion.
