Overview
The aquarium was easily accessible by wheelchair from the basement car park to the two sets of lifts one had to use, through the restaurants and foyers, and right through the aquarium from one end to the other. This apart from the fact that it was a visual treat with most display tanks going up to the ceiling and one even going through a glass tunnel. The displays are at different levels but the aquarium has ramps at fairly comfortable gradients. We moved from top to bottom using a light manually pushed transporter. We bought our tickets through the hotel travel desk and were charged 3800 bhats for 4 tickets. This included a 5 Km approx taxi ride in a large taxi ie a Toyota Innova plus waiting time. We left at 10 and were back at 2 after spending a little time in Lumpini Park.
Transport & Parking
The aquarium is located in the basement of a large shopping mall called Siam Paragon. We parked in the basement parking area like any other mall user. Didnt notice anything special for disabled users. We had to go up a ramp then take a lift.
Access
We werent looking for signage for the disabled. We were grateful if there was just anything in English.. The displays in the aquarium itself had bilingual signage ie English and Thai. Can't remember the rest, but we didn't have a problem navigating through the aquarium. Back in the mall you had to have your wits about you, ie remember the way you came in
Toilets
No idea. We are diaper people.
Staff
Didnt get to interact with anyone as the man from the hotel travel desk did all the interacting on our behalf. We didnt have to wait long for our tickets which has been an issue with many.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Tickets are available on line also. They are cheaper on weekdays if you go in before 12 and cheaper still if you go in after 5. I believe that is when the place is less crowded ie before 12.
