Overview
This shop is a great place for wheelchair users if you're not interested in jazz. All the jazz stuff is in the basement, which is not wheelchair-accessible. Everything else is on the ground floor, there's a ramp for getting into the shop, and there's even an accessible toilet.
Transport & Parking
There are no step-free stations nearby. Zillions of buses go up and down nearby Oxford St and Regent St. I wouldn't dream of trying to park in this area.
Access
Staff will deploy a sturdy aluminium ramp if you can get their attention from outside. The entire ground floor is wheelchair-accessible and spacious. The entire basement, which houses the jazz music, can only be reached by a staircase, though if you know what jazz things you want, staff will gladly fetch them for you.
Toilets
This is the first sheet-music shop I have ever come across with an accessible toilet. It's a good, spacious, well-designed toilet, and loses TWO stars because someone has very thoughtlessly tied the red emergency cord around the grab-rail, making the cord absolutely no use at all if you fall to the floor and need to summon assistance. See my photo below.
Staff
The staff are lovely, and eager to help. One funny moment: one member of staff, after I had got into the shop, looked at the aluminium wheelchair ramp and said to her colleague: "I always wondered what that was". This suggests a lack of basic disability awareness training!
