Overview
We booked a table in advance, enjoyed our afternoon tea,(which was served at the table) price is very reasonable. There is a Café you can purchase various food and reasonably priced too. The Staff are all volunteers and were very helpful, making sure we found our table and topping up our tea pots. Whilst enjoying our afternoon tea, we were able to listen to the music being played on the Wurlitzer and watching couples dancing, putting our Guest in the mod to hit the dance floor. This was a great experience for one couple who had not danced in years, a great experience for someone living with dementia, a great talking point afterwards. Staff did not hurry us and we were able to come back to our table after having a look around the Museum and Fairground, ( there is a small charge for Museum but Carers go Free)
Transport & Parking
There is plenty of Parking and a few Disabled spaces. You can drop people off right outside the main entrance then go and park if need be. Parking is Free.
Access
From the car park it is all on the one level, plenty of room for a wheelchair or a mobility scooter. Some of the rides in the fairground don’t have disabled access but that would be quite difficult to do!
Toilets
Toilets are sign posted, they are situated in the Ballroom next to the Counter. All Toilets are in the same area, Disabled Toilet is large enough for a carer.
Staff
Being all volunteers the staff were excellent, very kind and caring of our needs. Helping us to our table then always checking we had enough cakes etc. They were very patient when on the Carousel, not hurrying anybody. Keeping doors open for us and chatting to the guests.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Our Guests always enjoy this trip, it brings back loads of memories, the Museum has loads of vehicles from Lambrettas to Massey Fergusson’s. Then the fairground has Penny slot machines and you can even have a shot on The Waltzer, good fun was had by all.
