Overview
A great hotel in a central location making it a great base for a city break. The hotel is a short walk from the central train station, with accessible rooms, friendly staff and a great breakfast!
Transport & Parking
There isn't much in the way of parking but given that it is only a short walk from the station and there is a drop of spot outside the door for taxi's this makes it accessible. However, we didn't have a car with us, so if you do, phone ahead and arrangements might be possible.
Access
The hotel is very accessible. Throughout the ground floor which is where the reception, dining room, bar and restaurant are all located is on one level. There are ample lifts and if you book the accessible room it has a large bathroom and two single electric rising beds. The corners were quite tight in some places but we did have a large electric wheelchair with us. A standard manual chair should be fine. The tables in the breakfast hall have quite a high clearance so my mum could fit under with ease. Some cobbles outside the entrance are the only real let down.
Toilets
There are toilets on the ground floor and the toilets in the room are accessible as well. Unable to comment on the ease of use of the loo's as visitor does not use them independently.
Staff
The staff were fantastic at the hotel, very knowledgeable about the city and willing to help where possible. There was a slight lack of knowledge about what was and wasn't accessible in the city but this is often the case. The breakfast is a buffet style set up and a waiter helped out with carrying the plates to make it easier.
