Overview
Probably Edinburgh's best known traditional music venue. Music from local musical groups, every night
Transport & Parking
On street parking only
Access
There is a 3 cm lip at the front door which does not present a problem, but the pull door can be difficult. I am a frequent user of the pub and have never had to wait more than 30 secs or so until another customer wants to leave or enter, and kind help is invariably given
Toilets
It is unusual to find such a good facility in an old Edinburgh building. There is an idiosyncratic toilet seat shaped like a fiddle (I always smile to see it) You probably have to squeeze past the players to get to the loo, but everyone accomodates. If you don't like busy venues, probably not for you!
Staff
This is a VERY busy traditional pub. EVERYONE has to squeeze to get past eveyrone. Staff are attentive and no one dies of thirst
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The clientelle are super helpful and accommodating. There is lively music on the go almost all of every evening. If you play an instrument bring it along. I play a harmonica (a ''moothie'' in Bell's) but fiddles accordions, whistles, guitars etc are always in my experience welcome to join in.
