Listening to the wildlife. How peaceful the environment was. The Cafe at the Model village.

Transport & Parking

We traveled by bus and it arrived just across the road from the trail. On the bus the driver was very considerate as he was asked to wait whilst we found a seat and he felt obliged. The parking isn't great near Stanley Park as there are a lot of cars. However if you do find a space it is a very good spot as there are a lot of crossings to the trail and the road is long so it isn't hard to locate.

Access

There is some information on some signs at the beginning and they also have some history about the woodland. There were several paths to follow with lots of wooden sculptures, little rivers and ponds. There were variety of flowers and plants to smell and feel. The floor was easy to walk on due to the weather being hot, however if it was wet it would have been muddy and there were some inclines and declines in the terrain. The individual using the cane needed various prompts and support.

Toilets

There were no toilets on the nature trail, however there is the model village and the the De Vere hotel which are both located 5 minutes walking distance away from the nature trail. They both have toilet facilities.

Staff

There were no staff at the trail.

It was peaceful amidst the hum of insects and cheerful bird song. We went to get a drink at the Model village and there weren't many people. The drinks were average price and they had a variety of snacks for sale. You didn't have to purchase a ticket to the model village to use their cafe facility
