This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Powerchair
Overview
Doors are electronic. Has an accessible loo. Manual chairs and scooters are available. It is all level access with smooth floors. Wheelchair accessible till available. There are also wheelchair accessible trolleys and disabled child trolleys available.
Transport & Parking
Disabled parking near doors. Public transport isn't that great though.
Access
There was no seating once you started going around the shop but there were manual wheelchairs and mobility scooters to use. The freezers were both deep chest freezers without lids and the freezers above where higher up. Lots of high shelves too which from a lower chair you'd struggle to reach. I could reach using the lift feature on my chair.
Toilets
No changing places toilet. The toilet flush was small and also broken. The emergency cord was not reaching floor. There was a large print/braille sign/easy read sign on the door. There was mirror at a lower height and a hook at a "regular" height on door Mirror was directly in front of toilet which weird. Toilet was right hand transfer with grab rails which were contrasting colours. However the was no rail on the wall next to toilet only a drop down. Lock on door was quite small. Hand dryer also looked quite high if someone was in a lower wheelchair than mine. There was enough floor space to turn and a carer could also squeeze in too. The toilet was clean and there was a sign pointing to where the toilet was which was next to the cafe and behind self check out.
Staff
Anything else you wish to tell us?
They need to move the mirror away from toilet and lower the bag hook in my opinion. Also make the emergency cord lower and fix the toilet flush and change it for an adapted large handle. The lock could also be easier as you'd need to be dexterous to use it I think. Although I think it is meant to have a bar on the lock but it has been removed. COVID: staff were limiting number of customers. Masks were worn. Sanitizer available. Screens up. They were telling people over radio to cover mouth and nose. PETROL STATIONS: Is on the fuel service app to request assistance
