Overview

Rugby Train Station provides excellent rail services throughout the UK, with friendly staff and wheelchair accessible platforms. The toilets are clean with a separate disabled toilet which has sufficient room for a wheelchair. There is a small shop within the station that provides snacks and drinks, however a Tesco express is nearby for any other needs. This train station is easily accessible by bus and taxi and is around a 20 minute walk from Rugby Town Centre.

Transport & Parking

There are numerous spaces for disabled parking however these are situated at the back of the station, across a busy main road. While tickets can be bought from either the front or back entrances to the station, barriers are in place at each entrance. Parking charges also amount to £9.00 for a day ticket. There are good bus links to the town centre outside the station, as well as buses to Coventry and Daventry.

Access

There are no steps leading into the train station, there are several stairs to reach the platforms however lifts are also available; these lifts are spacious therefore they are suitable for a wheelchair or large bags. Friendly staff are on hand to give assistance if required, and there are low and high ticket machines as well as a disabled access barrier to get through to the platforms.

Toilets

The toilet is easily accessible from the front entrance however if someone came through the back entrance they would have to walk to the other end of the station to access the toilet. The toilets are very clean with grab rails in place for stability; there is enough room for a wheelchair to be moved around as well as have a carer to assist if needed.

Staff

Staff are very friendly and helpful; they are useful if help is needed to reach a platform and to provide extra details regarding train travel. They are also very useful to provide ramps for easy access on and off trains.

I would recommend Rugby Train Station and would definitely visit again, I like that there is good wheelchair access to all platforms as well as staff who are happy to assist with any problems.
