Overview
Second visit to this excellent site for all ages. The small network of wide accessible paths covers a large area of wetland. A number of hides are well equipped for wheelchair access and have lots of helpful resources so you get the most from the birdlife on display. Along the trail there are frequent interpretation stations, offered in fun, imaginative ways. The visitor centre itself is a converted barn. It's compact but wheelchair accessible and friendly staff are on hand to ensure there's no need to get in a flap! There's a courtyard with outside seating, some of which is covered. The cafe is up a flight of stairs but accessible by wheelchair via a lift. Be prepared for a good test of manoeuvring though and I would recommend someone in your party has a quick look first to ensure it's going to be suitable. It's quite an open, exposed reserve and while most of the paths are lined with hedgerow, warm clothing is advised particularly on blustery days.
