Overview
I love Duckie, It runs cabaret and club nights at the Grade II listed building in London's Royal Vauxhall Travern, hosted by Amy Lee. You might say, yes it is not very accessible, as their is no accessible toilets. For some impairments this is a place where they can be safe and not be judged and dance to fantastic music, every track played is a tune! Be that Cornershop, Roybn, Suede, Stevie V, Kate Bush, Chemical Brothers or just plan 80's Madonna. The cabaret acts are interesting and 'memorable.'
Transport & Parking
Very close to Vauxhall Station, about a four minute walk.
Access
There is no step at the entrance, the dance fool is all on one level, there is a raised platform for seating and no accessible toilets. This place gets very bud, but it wasn't too busy this weekend. The bar can get really busy but a wee tip is to order at the bar, go outside to the back entrance and then join your mates on the dance floor without trying to get across the dancehall. This all depends on the weather.
Toilets
Small, narrow and pretty accessible.
Staff
always very friendly and making jokes. But any trouble you know that you're in safe hands.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
A true London gay institution, one to be cherished and respected.
