Overview
This is a beautiful historic venue on Edinburgh's Queen Street, but as a listed building it does come with some access restrictions which they communicate on their website.
Transport & Parking
There is metered on-street parking on Queen Street, the buildings is also quite near to St Andrew's Square where there are tram and bus stops. A little further again is Waverley Train Station.
Access
Unfortunately there is a steep set of stairs at the main entrance, however there is another entrance at the rear of the building which has a wheelchair lift. There is a member of security staff at the main entrance who can see everyone approaching as they are seated at the door with a view of the front steps. The staff member we met was exceptionally friendly as he saw us trying to catch a glimpse of the inside of the building on a quiet night. As the main hall and function room was not being used, he offered us a tour of the venue. It was beautiful! But lots of steps at the front.
Toilets
I didn't use or see any so I can't comment.
Staff
Very helpful and attentive.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The venue can be hired for functions.
