Overview
This hotel is between the Central and South Pier in Blackpool it has 3 levels of decking in the front of it that allow you to sit and enjoy a drink etc. in good weather. There is a ramp to one side of the decking area that gives you access to all 3 levels including the entrance to the hotel. Inside in the bar has lots of light and has a number of large screens showing News etc. If you are staying in the hotel you need to use your key card outside public areas such as the bar.
Transport & Parking
There is no parking front of this hotel however there is some available in the side streets however this will be very busy during the busy periods such as Summer and the Illuminations. The St Chads Tram Stop is just across the road and a number of local buses use the bus stop that is just along the road from the hotel.
Access
There is a lift from the prom to the top of the decking level you can then go in via the bar area or go along to the main reception entrance at the far end of the decking area. You do need to use your key card to enter this way. The hotel has a lift to all floors and there are a few steps around the hotel in some places. The room we had did have wet flooring but there was a step up in to the shower about 2.5 inch there were grab rails in the shower and a shower stool was in place.
Toilets
There is one wheelchair accessible toilet available in the bar area it is located in the corner as you go past the bar. The light comes on automatically as you enter. There are grab rails to both sides and room for a care giver to help if required. The Red cords were tied up however when I spoke to the manager he told me that they do untie them but find that members of the public tie them up for some reason or another.
Staff
Every member of staff is fantastic and makes you very welcome from the moment you arrive to you leave. We had lots of fun during our visit to this hotel.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Please note that this hotel does not suit someone who is confined to a wheelchair. Or anyone who needs a hoist in the room. During our visit there was a number of guest with a range of disabilities staying .
