Overview
Roundhay park is the biggest city park in the UK, and with two lakes, various gardens, wildlife and walks it's a great place to visit. There is also Tropical World over the road and the Mansion House to visit. They have paved paths all around the park, although these can get muddy when it's wet weather. Beautiful place to visit and very family friendly.
Transport & Parking
There are a few disabled parking spaces outside tropical world, but also more parking on Park Lane and three other car parks. There are regular buses from and into town with regular bus stops. There is also a small train that goes around the park that you can use if you don't fancy walking the whole way around .
Access
The park has paved paths, although they can get muddy in wet weather. You can hire wheelchairs for your visit to the park, although unsure how to do this - you'd have to ring them up before your visit I think. There are a number of benches around to sit on. Not many signs about to indicate which way to each section of the park.
Toilets
There is one set of toilets in the Lakeside cafe, with a good disabled toilet. The doors to the cafe are automatic and the toilets are clean and accessible.
Staff
Not many staff walking around the park, but those in the cafe are lovely and friendly.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Would definitely visit again, great day out! Perhaps be aware of weather due to muddiness of paths.
