Overview
Tarmac path all the way affording a smooth ride and a safe surface. See below for suggestions about where best to access the path.
Transport & Parking
Permit or metered parking at the Roseburn end. Shoppers' car park at the Craigleith end. Lothian buses 12, 26 & 31 will get you near to the Roseburn end of the walk, and there are plenty of buses from Craigleith shopping centre at the end of the walk.
Access
Good wheelchair access at both ends of the walk. Intermediate access points involve either steps or, to get up to Ravelston Dykes, a steep path which this 64 year-old accompanist didn't feel up to but which fitter accompanists or power-chair users might manage. If starting the walk at the Roseburn end, the easiest routes onto the railway line are those from the tramline end of Balbirnie Place and from half way up Wester Coates Terrace, just opposite Wester Coates Avenue. The walk can also be accessed up a zigzag path from Russell Road, but this is quite steep.
Toilets
There are accessible toilets in several of the shops at Craigleith shopping centre.
Staff
Not applicable, except to say that the City Council does a good job of managing the path
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The walk can be extended from Craigleith either in the direction of Davidson's Mains or Crewe Toll, Trinity, Newhaven and Leith. This network of cycle/walking paths on disused railways lines offers attractive green corridors through different parts of the city.

Thanks for posting this review - as a wheelchair user I'm often looking for new places where you can go and take a walk off the beaten track. I'll test it out over the weekend !
