Overview

This park is my local park. I saw that Shorne county park was review but no mention of Riverside in rainham. You join the carpark in from Lower Rainham Road. The park is well marked with large gated entrance. There's 3 disabled parking places right next to the toilets also one disabled toilet. The cafe is behind the carpark just a few short meters walk. Here is a children adventure area. Great place to while away a summer day with the grandkids if you can't walk far but needs access to facilities near you. However if you are looking for a nature experience Riverside also offers this. The river is accessed by a gravel partway. The gravel is large chunks so I recommend a strong wheelchair or pusher built like rambo. The partway leads to a peninsular in the river looking out over the medway estuary. It's not for thin small wheelchairs but a normal prestressed wheel can make it . There are 3 further places to park along the parks route. These lead also to the gravel pathways and the same conditions apply . The car parks fill up in summer as soon as gates open so I recommend check openning times and very prompt arrival. Or you will not get a space. Even a non disabled space. I have been disabled forv30 years and am really luck to have this park so close. I fully recommend a picnic and a full day's visit with kids. It can accommodate all and if you plan your day it can give a wonderful stress free outing. Just remember the parking this place is well maintained beautiful to visit and extremely popular. 😍 Hopefull this review actually answers all the many questions about a disabled day out. As I said I'm a mum not just a disabled person and getting the able bodied kids fun and getting all my needs sorted is difficult but Riverside wins gold stars fir everyone. Well done medway. Just one additional point medway has yet to hire shopriders out. Unlike Shorne County Park. So no vehicle hire here. Kind regards hope you visit this lovely location.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Only improvement would be the hire scheme fir off road shoprider as at Shorne Country part. I visit it as attend as I can very muddy in winter but still passable but windy and cold has a different charm.
