Overview

I was meeting a friend for lunch. I got a taxi there from the station. All in all, I would recommend this venue.

Transport & Parking

Access

The ground getting into the pub was uneven and tricky with my manual wheelchair. There were no steps in and double doors that could easily be opened though one door was enough. When I booked online, I mentioned needing wheelchair access and was given a lovely table in a quiet corner. There were steps elsewhere in the pub /restaurant so it was worth mentioning using a wheelchair. The service was great. We weren't hassled and were able to enjoy the table for as long as we needed. The menu was varied with the option of lighter versions of some of the mains.

Toilets

I needed to ask where the accessible toilet was and a staff member brought the key and showed me. You have to go back out to the porch where the loo was but it didn't open straight into the path of people going in or out of the pub. The toilet area was clean with everything within reach. The hand dryer was actually a good one and powerful one. There was a handrail but it would have needed moving down. I couldn't have done it on my own or reached it due to the sanitary box next to the loo. There wasn't a Changing Places toilet and it would have been a squash to have 2 people in there plus a wheelchair.

Staff

The staff were great. Helpful without being overly so and without making a fuss.

Tables weren't crammed in. There was no sanitiser that I could see.
