Accessible night located in the city centre of Dundee playing music from the 80s, 90s, 00s and now.

Transport & Parking

There is a council car park called Gellatly Street around the corner from Rewind where blue badge holders can park for free, and there is also on street parking that’s also free for blue badge holders. Other council car parks are also available close by. Dundee bus station is on the same street as Rewind and only a few minutes away if you’re walking. The train station is a 10-minute walk away and taxi ranks close by.

Access

It is level access into Rewind although there are only a few tables on the first level, you have to go up some stairs to get to the bar, dancefloor and more tables. Staff were standing outside when I arrived and said I had to use another door to go in because there is a ramp up to the main level. Although I notice a small open lift when I was at the bar, I don’t know if it was broken or if they just thought the ramped area would be easier. I like that they have a backup though if there was a fire or the lift broke whilst I was there. The bar is quite high for wheelchair users however, I’d say the dancefloor is spacious. We arrived when Rewind just opened so, all tables were free. There are lots of tables and booths available to sit at. Wheelchair users are able to sit at the end the booth tables as there is a lot of space. There were dividers between the booths and dancefloor, which I thought would be great because people wouldn’t bang into the back of my wheelchair. However, my friend pointed out when it gets busier everyone stands around it and they use it as a table.

Toilets

I saw there was an accessible toilet at the otherside of the dancefloor but, I didn’t go inside of it. It had a RADAR key lock on it. The closest Changing Place toilet is within the V&A but, I think it would be closed by the time Rewind opened.

Staff

Staff members were very friendly when I visited and always spoke to me instead of the people I was with.
