Overview
Wheelchair accessible venue. The Town Hall has been beautifully refurbished and contains a registrary office, ceremony suite, function halls and the Renfrew Community Museum. There is a lift to upper level and ramp to access building and the Community Museum. The museum is very interesting it holds a spitfire engine which was built at Rolls Royce in Hillington and a model of the old Airport which was in Renfrew before the current Glasgow Airport was built. It also tells of the history of Renfrew and the ship building and boiler making industry that employed so many of it's inhabitants.
Transport & Parking
The venue is in the centre of Renfrew which is serviced by a regular bus route. There is no designated car park for the Town Hall but there is free parking and disabled spaces nearby.
Access
Ramp to access front of building, automatic assisted door entry and lift to upper floor. Level access and ramps within building. There were plenty of seats and a bench in the Museum to stop for a rest.
Toilets
The disabled toilet was easily accessible, it was clean and fresh. There was room to manoeuvre and space for a carer. Grab rails were fitted.
Staff
The staff were very accommodating and happy to answer our questions. We were made very welcome.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
We would recommend this venue to other people. The building is beautiful and the Museum interesting. There are also cafes and shops in the area to enable a good day out.
