Overview
A great experience which wheelchair users can enjoy to the full. All visitors need to book in advance on-line - it's no good just turning up on the day.
Transport & Parking
We got there using riverside footpaths. Public transport in Berlin is generally wheelchair-friendly, but not all S-bahn and U-bahn stations have level access. The excellent BVG (Berlin Transport) website is very helpful in finding those that do.
Access
Once through the Holyrood-style security (indoors), an attendant escorts out into the open and over to a ground floor outdoor entrance to a capacious lift, which takes you up to the level of the roof terrace. There are wonderful views from the roof terrace, all of which is fully accessible, and from there it's an easy push up the spiral walkway inside the Norman Foster glass dome. We saw some wheelchair users self-propelling up the walkway with apparent ease. From the top there are great views of the city, & you can also look down into the chamber of the Bundestag (German Federal Parliament).
Toilets
The toilets are OK but few in number and you might well have to queue for a while.
Staff
Excellent and their English was miles better than our German.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The cafe on the roof terrace appeared to be accessible but we didn't try it as we had read that it is very expensive.
