Highland capital stop over
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Powerchair
Overview
Very good access for an overnight stay. Wheelchair accessible room was excellent and easily large enough for two power chairs. Automated main door to the hotel, lifts to all floors, accessible bedrooms close to lifts and facilities. Tables and chairs in dining area moveable to enable good wheelchair access.
Transport & Parking
The hotel is in one of the main streets so parking might be a problem. Very close to the railway and bus stations.
Access
Access from a power chair users perspective was excellent. Stayed over night in a really well laid out accessible room, dined in the restaurant, and used the bar all with ease. Step free access from the pavement outside.
Toilets
The accessible bathroom was superb. Nicely equipped, spotlessly clean, and plenty of space. Wet floor shower, lowered sink unit, and ample grab rails.
Staff
Staff made the visit with table service at meal times, help with refreshments, and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast is a self service buffet style and staff were happy to help me with this and carry things to my table.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The hotel is well positioned in the town and close enough, as a power chair user, to get to all the shops and attractions. As an unaccompanied traveller it was an ideal stop over. Would certainly visit again!
