Overview
Commercial and tourist area but more low rise than high rise. Beautiful long stretch of beach which was clean with plenty of boardwalks on the sand all the way along the beach making it easy for wheelchair access. Lots of places to sunbathe on loungers and a good choice of boardwalks leading right up to loungers (the photos I have taken don’t show boardwalks right up to loungers but there are plenty). The sun loungers are for hire - however they are free of charge for wheelchair users. It was also free of charge to use a windbreak for wheelchair users. We noticed a beach wheelchair for entering the sea but didn't use it on this occasion. The sea was crystal clear and clean.
Transport & Parking
Came by taxi. Easy to drop you off at the end of the promenade close to the beach. Noticed some disabled parking bays further down in there Main Street.
Access
Long promenade. Plenty benches to stop and rest. No steps from promenade onto the beach. Straight onto beach boardwalks from lots of points on the promenade. All flat. One of the best accessible beaches we have visited. It was lovely there in May and pretty quiet but I’m guessing it will be very busy in the summer months. Only lost half a star as promenade a bit cobbly in a manual wheelchair but completely accessible.
Toilets
There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the beach with ramped access but we didn’t use it on this occasion so I cannot comment on it. There is a clear sign for the wheelchair accessible toilet that you can see when walking along the promenade.
