Overview

Having been able, for the first time, to book an accessible room with a wet room online, without the need to phone the hotel, makes the Premier Inn booking website very disabled friendly and accessible. The bedroom and wet room is one of the best that I have stayed in within the Premier Inn chain of hotels.

Transport & Parking

There is no parking attached to the hotel but a Pay & Display multi story car park is at the rear of the hotel. We travelled to Newcastle by train and walked & rolled for 10 - 15 minutes to the hotel. Internally a permanent ramp takes wheelchair users to reception with 2 lifts then to the bedrooms. I believe that no bedrooms at all are on the same level as reception.

Access

Movement within the hotel is easy for wheelchair users, with steps to the breakfast room avoided with a lifts platform. A hearing loop is available at reception

Toilets

As a guest in any hotel I only use the toilet in the bedroom. The toilet and shower were fine for me with a permanent shower seat available.

Staff

The staff that we had contact with were very friendly and helpful. Reception, bar and breakfast room staff were offering to assist me as required,.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The central location is great. Eldon Square shopping centre is opposite the hotel as is the pedestrianised town centre. The theatre and football ground are close, with the Quayside, the Baltic Art Gallery and Blinking Eye ( bridge ) a 10 minute walk or roll away.
