Overview
There are some real compromises at this hotel as it's an old building. Very willing staff but some problems which you have to be prepared to work around.
Transport & Parking
Excellent for public transport as between Waterloo and Westminster Bridge.
Access
There are a lot of compromises at this hotel. You access it via the basement which means the security guard letting you in via the deliveries ramp and then getting a lift up. If coming down you stop on the ground floor and need to find a member of staff to use a key to send you lower - fine for us but would be a problem if you were on your own.
Toilets
We had the room with the accessible wet room with a roll in shower. Excellent toilet and shower with plenty of room.
Staff
Real can do staff attitude. They have elephant feet as standard (which we needed to raise the bed up). We hired a hoist and they were good about having it delivered and taken away. The bed had been made up as a king but they got Maintenance to come and separate it into two twins (which slightly but only slightly compromised the space in the room). The room itself is, like many in the hotel, a bit dingy as it looks onto an internal courtyard, but the setting, right on the river by the London Eye, cannot be bettered.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This is a great location but it isn't a purpose built hotel so you have to be willing to compromise. It was fine for us as a family group but would be much much harder if you were on your own. The staff though couldn't do enough to help.
