Overview

Prague Zoo is the 5th best zoo in Europe and is an amazing attraction for all the family to enjoy. There is over 150 exhibits including 144 endangered species as well as other mammals, birds and reptiles. The zoo is accessible by car and there is a large car park that can accommodate around 850 cars. Individuals with a disabled badge can park for free as well as getting 25% off admission price and carers can access the zoo for free. The zoo offers a variety of food from restaurants to refreshment stands, all at very good prices.

Transport & Parking

The Zoo has space to accommodate around 850 cars and individuals with a disability ID card can park for free all day. The cost is normally CZK 200 which is the equivalent of £7 for all day. The buses are all wheelchair friendly as they have a manual fold out ramp at the centre door. The 112 bus goes straight to the zoo which leaves Nádraží Holešovice metro station, 2/3 of the metro stations are wheelchair accessible including this one. However, most metro stations have 2 or 3 entrances and not every entrance has a lift down to the metros.

Access

The zoo was very wheelchair friendly with big open spaces and wide paths, making it very easy for wheelchair users. All the exhibits had ramps down or up to them. The sign posts had large clear writing on as well as a picture next to the writing. There was seating all around the zoo including outside refreshment stands, outside restaurants and at most large exhibits.

Toilets

There were disabled toilets in most of the toilet blocks and the toilet blocks were located in many places around the zoo. The toilets were very easy to find as they were always signposted. The toilets were clean, tidy and spacious.

Staff

All the staff were friendly and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the animals and any questions we had were answered.

I would definitely recommend the zoo to other people, it was an enjoyable and affordable day out and i would like to return one day if the opportunity was there.
