Overview
The Historic Dockyard has accessible parking spaces, but is also next to the bus station making it easy to access. Carers get in for free. Some external paths are cobbled, but most spaces are smooth and flat. The HMS Warrior can be accessed via a ramp which is steeper at high tide. Both the top deck and gun deck are fully wheelchair accessible due to a chair lift. Staff were excellent at operating the lift. The Royal Navy museum is a fairly modern building, all fully accessible. Tactile exhibits are available for the visually impaired. The Victory Gallery is fully accessible as above, with tactile exhibits and an external viewing platform granting views of Naval ships currently in service, such as a Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carrier. The HMS Victory is currently undergoing repairs, but the three tier scaffolding surrounding the ship is fully accessible via lift, granting impressive views of the entire ship. The Mary Rose museum is also a modern building based around the wreck, also with tactile exhibits. Multiple accessible toilets are available around the dockyard, along with places to sit and eat. A changing place is available by the Mary Rose. Staff are incredibly friendly and professional. I've only deducted half a star because not all decks of the Warrior were accessible to me, although truth be told that feels harsh!
