Positive experience at venue C!!

Overview
Trying to enter the venue could be an issue if wheelchair users are there on there own as it is up 3 steps and there is not always staff at the door. Once in the venue it is fine, with either ramps or a compact lift, enough space for 1 wheelchair at a time, to get you to the different halls.
Transport & Parking
There is on street parking all the way along Chamber Street though it can be very busy. There are numerous buses that virtually pass the door.
Access
The main entrance is up 3 steps And if I was on my own, there was not always staff at the door to get me in, although most people are very helpful and will alert a member of staff. The wheelchair entrance is through a side door where there's access to a platform lift. Unfortunately when I was there it was broken so was taken to the main entrance and had to go up quite a steep ramp. Coming back out I had to go backwards. Once in there is a ramp that takes you to the bar area and in the foyer there was a small lift to take me to the theatre which was operated by staff as it needed a key.
Toilets
I was never in the accessible toilets but they were directly outside the theatre hall but were beside the mail and female toilets which meant as you were going In or out of a show there was crowds that you had to negotiate to get to the toilet.
Staff
The staff couldn't have been more helpful and were apologetic about the platform lift being out of order.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would give yourself plenty of time to get in due to the staff either having to work the lifts or getting the ramp out to gain access to the venue. I went to see the Ray Charles Experience which was full of great songs and energetic dance routines and the singer loved audience participation. Well worth going!!
