Wheelchair Accessible Kids Indoor Play Park
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair, Powerchair
Overview
This venue was created by owners with an autistic child and so the family have hands-on experience in creating a safe environment for children with varying abilities. We loved their wheelchair accessible jungle gym.
Transport & Parking
We parked on the street, which is quiet so not a problem. There are ramps to the entrance of the building, but not ramps from the street up to the pavement. Not really a problem for us, but wheelchair accessible rather than wheelchair friendly parking.
Access
There was a ramp into the building, and the rest of the building is flat. The highlight for us was the wheelchair accessible jungle gym which my son spent ages driving up, down and around. The first time in his 16 years of life he could 'climb' a jungle gym on his own. The rest of the equipment was designed to accommodate special needs children with assistance e.g. jumping castles, wheely-boards and swings they can lie on or be propped up on.
Toilets
We didn't visit the bathrooms on this visit so I cannot comment.
Staff
Very helpful and hands-on. The owner, Andy, showed us around and assisted with every activity, helping to get my son onto the wheely-boards and make sure he was properly cushioned and supported.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Popular for children's birthday parties, this venue accommodates varying levels of ability and ages. With ball pools for little ones and the ramp jungle gym for the more curious wheelchair users, there is something for all.
