Overview
Despite the obvious limitations of an old building, access was quite straightforward and staff were lovely. My transfer seat had a great view of the stage.
Transport & Parking
Sadly the theatre's nearest tube stations are not wheelchair friendly. So I was pushed from Waterloo. The route isn't too bad and took about 30 minutes at a brisk pace(it was cold!). I'm sure London buses pass by (it's on the main Charing Cross Rd) but we didn't use them.
Access
Front entrance (box office here) has one small step up. Ok if you're pushed but could be an issue if you're unaccompanied - no ramp was offered. I was accompanied round the back (had to go outside again) to a side door which led up a gentle ramp straight into the dress circle. My seat was the first on the front row. My wheelchair was stowed in sight just a metre or so away. Easy!
Toilets
The loo was through a couple of doors nearby to my seat. Whilst the loo itself was basic but clean, the entrance was the grandest I've ever seen - see photo. The loo had room for a wheelchair (just) but shape meant washbasin was right in front whilst using the loo, making grab rails bit difficult to reach. But it was manageable.
Staff
All staff exemplary.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
When rising from the dress circle seat, just take care - the safety rail for the balcony is very low!
