Overview
This cafe is located within the Findhorn Foundation which is situated just before the village of Findhorn. It has a beautiful atmosphere - surrounded by trees and the sound of birdsong. The menu is mostly organic and vegan and offers a wide variety of tasty food to try. The staff were very helpful and welcoming; this really added to the overall experience of being inside this chilled out green space. It is possible to sit either inside or out and there is plenty of space to manoeuvre throughout; if you have any trouble, I'm sure the staff would be happy to help you in any way that they could. Overall, it's a really nice calm place to relax in and perfect for a day out at Findhorn Community.
Transport & Parking
There are several areas close by for disabled parking, however, given the amount of visitors who come to the Foundation, I feel that there could be more disabled bays available. Despite this, there are other non disabled parking spaces which may be available. There are also buses to Findhorn Village from Inverness, Aberdeen and points in between.
Access
There is a smooth pathway leading from the car park to the cafe. The inside is accessed via a ramp and two wide manual doors and the outside seating area is accessed via the pathway. You may need help with the two manual doors although the outside one is usually open and there are always people about. In general, the whole experience is very positive and hassle free; I felt very comfortable and welcome.
Toilets
The accessible toilet was spotlessly clean with plenty of remove to spin round in a wheelchair and for a carer. There were also grab rails and a red emergency cord which were in easy reach. The only reason I have not rated this with 5 stars is that it is shared with baby changing and the gents, meaning that it might not always be available.
Staff
The staff were fantastic and could not have done any more.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It's always a pleasure to come and relax here but the highlight of my last visit was meeting Katy and Sandy with their two tail wagging friends Benjy and the royal Bailey! One of the best things about coming here is that you never know who you might meet. I will definitely be coming back and I would recommend it for a visit full of cool vibes.
