Overview
Mixture of places with excellent access and those with impossible access
Transport & Parking
We booked a private tour by car. The driver loaded/unloaded and pushed my wheelchair which made the trip very easy. There was also an option of a wheelchair accessible vehicle, but this was not available at the time of our visit
Access
The hotels we stayed at were pretty good. The Intercontinental in Amman was easy to access, room had wet room with all appropriate grab rails. One or two parts of restaurant difficult to access. Movenpicks at Dead Sea and Petra not quite as good but OK. Venues very variable, but generally difficult. I was helped by our driver who was determined to get me everywhere possible.
Toilets
Again mixed. Hotels generally good, restaurants and tourist venues not so.
Staff
The Jordanians were terrific, always ready to help when difficulties arose.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Our tour was arranged by Petra Nights Tours in Amman. I had always wanted to visit the Middle East (especially Syria...) and really didn't think a tour would be possible. This company organised a really good tour for me and I was able to enjoy much of the country. Highlight was sitting in my wheelchair in the desert near Wadi Rum while our driver brewed up mint tea on a camp fire.
