Overview
This is well worth a visit, it has a smallish garden centre , a delightful restaurant with great food but the jewel in the crown is the glorious gardens showcasing the roses and plants.
Transport & Parking
They are currently ( May 2019) working in the car park nearest the entrance , so blue badge parking is very limited. There is plenty of overflow parking . Some of it is on grass and some on compacted stones. It was navigable by scooter , but the weather has been good. I'm not sure how it would be in bad weather. Its about a 30-50 metre walk to the entrance from the car park.
Access
The shop is accessible, the restaurant is also accessible although its not large. The plant area is accessible , most of the paths are compacted stones. The 2 clematis houses are accessible but its not roomy in there . The gardens are accessible but all the paths are grass so whilst this was a beautiful sunny day, it would be less easy if we have a period of bad weather.
Toilets
I didn't use it , but there is a disabled access toilet.
Staff
Everyone was very friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. They were happy to stop and talk about the roses or discuss any issues you wanted to resolve. There is a specific desk in the shop for Rose Questions where they will work with you to help you.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This place does get VERY busy at weekends and bank holidays but its well worth a visit. There is a wildlife garden which attracts all types of birds and there is a part of the garden specifically for children but its separate from the main garden across a little lane so children must always be accompanied.
