Overview
We had a free day so I took my mum to the National Trust site of Penrhyn Castle and Gardens. We parked in the car park on a beautiful sunny day. After navigating through the entrance we spent many hours exploring the country house and the extensive gardens. There was only one section that we could not get my mum to which was the Italiensque gardens, it was a bit of a shame as they were beautiful but to my surprise we could get around everywhere else. One word of caution I'm pretty strong and fit but the path we took was a bit steep in places you could however get around most of the area without going that particular way.
Transport & Parking
We drove our own car, huge car park that even in the unlikely event the disabled specific parking was full you would be able to park no problem.
Access
The main grounds were fully accessible, 75% tarmac paths and 25% gravel mix. The gradient was fairly steep in places but manageable if you are strong and fit, there were always less steep options. The ground floor of the country house, cafe and drinks shed area were fully accessible. The upper floor of the house was not accessible but they had a nice touch of having an iPad available to browse that contained photos of all the upstairs exhibits. The italiensque gardens are not accessible as unfortunately this area is only covered by steps.
Toilets
The toilets were accessible and easy to find.
Staff
Staff were friendly and welcoming. A map was provided on entry.
