Overview

A wheelchair accessible restaurant and pub, with very friendly staff that are more than happy to help with anything they can. Good food and relaxed atmosphere.

Transport & Parking

The venue itself has a spacious & private car parking lot, with one dedicated disabled parking space. On a busy evening, only the one disabled parking space could be seen as a problem, however, the other spaces are close by and suitable sizing for disabled access. There is a slight incline which may cause slight difficulty when getting in and out of a car but nothing too problematic. This venue has only lost one star due to public transport difficulties as it's located out of the main town and close by to housing. A disabled taxi would be more useful, to bring you to the door of the venue.

Access

The disabled access into this venue is suitable. The main entrance has no steps and is a flat entrance with two benches outside the front door. There are two doors to enter through, they are wide for either assistance or any mobility aids. As they have an outside terrace and garden, be aware that the disabled access for the terrace is on the left of the property, and not using the main entrance. This path brings you around the side of the building, to get to the terrace with no steps or barriers. The garden however, must be accessed at the back of the property, more like the deliveries entrance. This requires parking elsewhere, in order to use the bottom gate for the garden instead of the large set of stairs. If an assistance dog is required, there is a designated are in the restaurant for dogs which is located next to the main entrance, which is helpful. If the staff are made aware they will be happy to help.

Toilets

There was plenty of space to manoeuvre in the toilet, grab rails in suitable places and plenty of space for a carer. The sink was located at a suitable height. The restaurant itself is quite large and spacious, and the toilets are separated therefore be sure to ask for a table nearby the toilets if the distance could cause a problem.

Staff

The staff were excellent! All staff were welcoming and friendly to everyone within the restaurant, but they were also ensuring they did everything they could to enhance your experience. They were quick to meet our needs when I explained any problem. From walking through the door they were there to hold them open as I guiding visually impaired, they moved us to a more suitable table, explained the menu and discussed dishes. I believe they would be happy to assist or help you. Two members of staff on my visit put their BSL to use, something I have never experienced before in a restaurant.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I would definitely recommend this restaurant, the food was definitely worth the trip and the disabled access was better than many other places I have been to. On a busy weekend, the restaurant can be very loud therefore, if there are any hearing difficulties, this might not be the best time to visit. I think a lot of people know about this gem as there isn't many like it in North Wales, so I would try and book. There is no braille or hearing loop in this restaurant and pub.
