Overview
The Overgate shopping centre didn't look massive as we spotted the entrance. We were engrossed in getting a selfie at the Desperate Dan statue when it was time to find an accessible loo. Not knowing the centre of town well we thought a shopping centre would be a good choice so ventured in to the automated doors.
Transport & Parking
Whilst we were in the centre we explored a bit. Popping out a side entrance we found the accessible parking bays. Very handy if you are Blue Badge holders and need to park nearby. With the shopping centre's main entrance out on to the city square it was ideal for getting a bus too.
Access
Once inside the Overgate its deceptive narrow entrance facade opened up to a very nice indoor walkway with glazed sides. Unusual not to have shops penning you in on both sides. The floor was lovely and smooth which made for an easy glide along in my wheelchair. With a wide array of shops set out on two levels we could've spent some time in here as there are plenty of options for a coffee and the mandatory cake.
Toilets
With accessible toilets accessed via a RADAR key the requisite pit stop was soon completed. The toilets are clean and tidy; albeit not the largest of loos. The accessible loos were adjacent to the standard toilets and in a corridor off of the main shopping concourse. Lookout for the signs as it is easy to wheel straight past the entrance corridor.
Staff
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The Centre provided for a very handy shopping diversion; particular as the weather wasn't looking too good.
