Overview
Stanmer Park on the outskirts of Brighton is huge and has just had a refurb with a brand new restaurant, beautiful gardens, tearoom and workshops. The food is grown on site via Plumpton College and the whole area is flat level, wheelchair accessible, smooth stone path or very light gravel. The disabled loo is huge, not a ‘changing places’ but all the handles, red cords to the floor, full length mirror and sink you can get your knees under and spotlessly clean. The staff couldn’t be more helpful when booking a table for access and then nothing is too much trouble on the day. I’ve been many times over the last year and it was our first lockdown outing. There’s a huge car park and lots of Blue Badge bays with a slope down to the main area. Check their website for the local classes, activities and events they run all year. Again, all accessible and on a plus, you don’t have to fight with the busy main city. There’s a bus is you’ve not got a car. Really is a jewel in Brighton’s crown.
