Overview
Having called to check they had disabled facilities before booking a table at a well known pizza restaurant at the Quay in Exeter. We were appalled to see the only way to access the building was over a 10" curb! My sister asked a grumpy member of staff for assistance. Who reluctantly dragged out what he claimed was a ramp for disabled people, and left. His ramp was clearly the wedge they use to get barrels into the bar. Not wide enough, and with a 45' angle, too steep for a wheelchair user. We left in disgust. And will never return. Avoid.
Transport & Parking
There's a couple of disabled spaces provided at The Quay. Nothing to do with this restaurant. Oh and be prepared for cobbles. All the roads around the Quay are cobbled with deep ridges.
Access
As stated before there is no disabled access unless you go with a couple of strong friends to unceremoniously drag your wheelchair up the curb.
Toilets
Dunno. Never saw it.
Staff
Surly and unhelpful.

Venue Manager responded to this review
Hi Steve, I would just like to confirm that since 2015 we have undertaken multiple improvements to make our restaurant a more accessible venue. As of January 2019 we have a dropped curb, so no more having to wrestle with the curb or our old temporary ramp. We also have more spacious seating both on the terrace, in the bar, and in the restaurant rooms themselves. I hope you are able to visit us again and leave a more favourable review now. Best wishes, Emma
