Overview
It's a great joy to write a review with five stars in every category. This café is an excellent place for wheelchair users to visit, has a perfect accessible toilet, and the food is supremely delicious.
Transport & Parking
The café is a very short walk from Victoria Station, which has step free access to Victoria, District and Circle Lines, step-free access to all national rail lines, and is served by zillions of different bus routes. NB for the District and Circle Lines, and for national rail train services, you will need assistance from staff with a manual boarding ramp. For the Victoria Line, access is step-free from street to train. I would not dream of trying to park in this area.
Access
The entrance is step-free, the doors are wide, you may find them a bit heavy, the entire café has plenty of room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre, tables are a good height. As a wheelchair user I found it all very easy and agreeable.
Toilets
The accessible toilet is spacious, ideally laid out, with no rubbish bins in the wheelchair transfer area (this unusual and remarkable fact astonished me), a red emergency cord which reaches all the way to the floor. It is indeed a rare treat to give an accessible toilet a five-star rating.
Staff
Staff are friendly and helpful, and - without prompting - offered to bring my rather large order to the table themselves, which made things much easier for me. Top marks to everyone for excellent customer service.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would definitely recommend this café to other people, and I will certainly be visiting again, frequently. The pastries and cakes are INCREDIBLY delicious, some of the best you'll find in London. Coffee too is delicious. Special favourites of mine are the Spandauer (a Danish pastry with a delicious blob of set custard in the middle) and the Cinnamon Social (a Danish pastry which is so delicious that it's very hard to eat it slowly, but you should eat it slowly in order to relish it for the maximum possible time). A note about the ordering system, which is not easy for the novice to work out on a first visit. You can't order your food and drinks from the part of the counter where coffee is made. If you hang around there waiting to be served, you will be ignored, because it's merely the coffee-delivery counter. Instead, order your stuff from a place where there's a credit card reader, and your drinks will soon magically appear at the coffee-delivery counter.
