Overview
Wonderful staff but access isn't good.
Transport & Parking
This is a local pub with a very small car park. Didn't see any disabled bays but the car park was full and we had to park in a side street. This is on a main road so I imagine it is on a bus route but I don't know the area.
Access
There are steps to the main entrance. The staff opened the double doors to the ramp access but we were dismayed to find it had a difficult high threshold that the power chair couldn't manage. The staff rallied the pub regulars who managed to manhandle the chair over the ramp , and out again later!
Toilets
There is a disabled toilet by the snooker table which is kept locked. The staff willingly opened it but we could not get in and close the door completely even after moving the sack of rock salt out of the way. Luckily it is in a little corridor to the men's toilet which was broken , but not ideal. Again staff were very helpful.
Staff
The staff could not have done more to make us welcome and try to overcome the difficulties.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
There is a large garden accessed by a ramp once you are inside but it cannot be accessed from the wide back gate as there is another large step. The garden is fairly steeply terraced.
