Overview
The film about Stephen Hawking, himself in a wheelchair, was shown on the upstairs screen at our local Odeon - there was no lift, only about six flights of stairs to reach the auditorium. Although we were assured that the film was audio described, when we reached the auditorium, the audio description did not work and I had to rely on my friend to describe the action to me. I think it is a shame that this film was not shown on the downstairs screen which is on one level and where the audio description worked really well. The staff were young and not properly trained to deal with a blind from birth person. I was not offered any apology or offer of compensation for future use.
Transport & Parking
The disabled parking is just across the road from the theatre and fortunately there were spaces available.
Access
Toilets
I don’t know whether or not there was an accessible toilet.
Staff
Need better training to deal with blind people.
