Overview
Disabled patrons are made so welcome at this theatre. My son has autism and a visual impairment and really benefitted from the CD sent describing the performance and the touch tour beforehand. He could explore props at his own pace and ask the staff questions. They were lovely with him. He was then able to explain about the setting to his brothers which made him very proud. We were able to get seats right at the front and the headphones were easy to use and very helpful. We were able to enjoy the performance as a family and my son felt supported rather than singled out. This is so important to him and helped us all to relax. The show used lots of sensory experiences like lights which really appealed to him. There were lots of people with disabilities at this performance and although it was very busy all seemed very well catered for. Guides were offered on the touch tour, a wheelchair was produced at a moments notice and an usher escorted a blind patron in an efficient and respectful way through a very large crowd.

What a lovely review! Thank you so much. We're really glad all went well for your visit. We enjoy including touch tours where possible before an audio described performance. As well as establishing spacing and layout, they offer the chance for theatregoers to explore costumes and props beforehand which makes the describer's job during the show that little bit easier.
