Overview
Good Ferry Terminal with great disabled access and super staff!
Transport & Parking
We parked at union square car park and walked to the ferry terminal from there. It took about 5 minutes to get from the car park to the ferry terminal. The car park has loads of disabled car parking spaces with plenty of room to get in and out of the car.
Access
The access at the terminal is good, there is a ramp at the entrance and a disabled toilet as well and also a lowered check-in desk specifically for wheelchair users. They obviously thought about wheelchair users which was great! On the ferry there were wheelchair accessible cabins and there was a lift to get to the shops etc and to get to the car bit. The ferry has smooth floors all through the ferry.
Toilets
There are disabled toilets inside the ferry terminal which is smallish but you should manage unless you're a bad driver like me, in which case you may be better just holding it in :). There are also several disabled toilets on the ferry which are bigger.
Staff
Amazing staff at the ferry terminal who done everything that the could to assist and finding my tickets. Great staff who assisted me onto the ferry and ace staff on the ferry, great staff at the restaurant and I have to give a shout out t the staff on the ferry who helped me open the my cabin door all the time because you have to use a key card and since I am from the highlands, I struggle with technology.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I was in the restaurant and everyone was saying night to each other and I said to Antonia that I am heading to my bed and I was away to get the lift when Gary went past the TV showing the Hibernian Vs. Hearts game so he turned around and smiled at me, as if to say "We both know what the plan is here" so we both headed in to the bar and watched the game and he was obviously still hurting from my 'wee team' comment as he asked me several times during the game "WHO'S THE WEE TEAM???????? HAHAHAHAHAHA" and boy, can he cheer.
