Overview
The pier is rather elderly and showing signs of wear and weather beating. It is accessible for wheelchair users but requires you to take a specific route.
Transport & Parking
Not much by way of parking by the pier itself. We parked in a nearby car park and wheeled over but that was a good distance. The trams do pass by the front door which is handy and they are accessible. Most people seem to walk along the promenade which is level and has a nice smooth surface for wheeling along.
Access
The most northerly of Blackpool's three piers. There is an amusement arcade at the entrance to the pier which you can wheel in as a wheelchair user and explore but there are steps to continue onward to go on to the pier. Take the entrance around the southern side of the arcade which has a bit of a slope down and you'll get on to the pier.
Toilets
Only a token part star on this one as the accessible loo sign was covered by an out of use sign that bore the marks of having been there some time. In short, if caught short, you'll have to find an alternative ...

Anything else you wish to tell us?
The pier is interesting and feels like stepping back in time as you can see remnants of the old tramway that went along the pier. Visit the open air performance music area at the end of the pier where you could imagine musicians playing as people replaced and took in the views and atmosphere ... there's still as sense of this nostalgia as you visit ...
