A reflective walk

Overview
This cemetery is deceptively large (it is 14 acres in total). It is a nice walking option for people living in the area. The paths are not great with a mix of grass and gravel. The entrance is the worst for loose gravel, it is generally more compact elsewhere in the cemetery. Some parts of the cemetery can get quite muddy and the north-west section is set aside as a wildlife area so it is quite overgrown and can be hard to navigate.
Transport & Parking
The number 2, 14, 30 and 33 Lothian buses all stop nearby at Prestonfield Avenue. Some cars do park in the cemetery entrance but it is not clear if this is just for residents or if people visiting the cemetery can park there. On street parking on Dalkeith Road is possible as long as it is not between 7:30 - 9:30am and 4:00 - 6:00pm.
Access
Access is OK. The entrance is the worst bit for loose gravel, after that the paths are more solid. Mixture of soil, grass and gravel to navigate. Overall it is pretty flat.

Anything else you wish to tell us?
I find this quite a good place to walk and keep a safe distance from people. People tend to move out of the way or choose another path when they see people walking towards them. Dogs do tend to be let off their lead here so they can sometimes come up to you. It doesn't seem like the cemetery is will cared for, lots of the graves have fallen over.
