Overview
In a bid to find more activities that we could do together (able bodied & tetraplegic) this was our first attempt! It was brilliant. We signed up to join the 90 min family canoe session. They had a seat which they fitted to the canoe to provide support & stability. Such lovely staff too!
Transport & Parking
We mentioned needing access to the rear of the car so were given a spot with plenty of space. In conversation the staff also mentioned that we could have driven down to the water if necessary (there was a short compact gravel path from the activity centre to the water)
Access
No hoist & no accessible path down to the water, however all the staff were eager to help out and make things possible. As well as the activity leader an extra person was on hand to help make the lift from the wheelchair to the canoe. A seat was attached to the canoe to provide support & stability.
Toilets
A basic loo with level access and room for a wheelchair was available
Staff
So friendly and eager to help.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The seat attached to the canoe hadn't yet been used for kayaking but we made the recommendation as have done this elsewhere before.
