Overview

60 minute boat trip taking in many Copenhagen's famous sites. The low overall review is due to lack of good access, however if I was rating the attraction itself I would give it 5 out of 5 as it is a delightful way to explore the city.

Transport & Parking

I boarded the boat at Nyhavn. It was easy to get to. Copenhagen has great accessible public transport and buses and metro have wheelchair access. Nearest metro stop is Kongens Nytorv which has lift access, is 3 -4 minutes walk away. There are also a number of bus routes that stop close by.

The only way to get on the boat is to descend a flight of about 8 steps which have hand rails either side. From the landing stage you then have to get onto the boat. This involves a step up and then 3 or 4 steps into the boat. There is a handrail only on the left hand side. Then there was a step up to the seat and a further step to navigate if you sat at the rear.

Staff

When I was boarding one of the other customers came to assist me getting into the boat as I was struggling a bit with my crutch. When I was getting off a member of staff was standing by the exit and offered his hand to assist.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

If you can manage the stairs the boat trip is an excellent way to see a lot of Copenhagen. The trip covers lots of the famous sites including the Little Mermaid (which you will see from the rear only), Christiansborg Palace, Amalienborg Palace, Marble Church and, Nyhavn. There is also modern architecture such as the Opera House, Royal Danish Library, aka the Black Diamond and the National Theatre. The tour also goes down some of the canals. On our trip we saw the Danish Royal Yacht. The commentary is in Danish, English and German. To get the best view of the Little Mermaid, facing the front sit on the right hand side of the boat. I felt the tour was comprehensive and good value for money and it is a very enjoyable way to spend an hour.
