Overview
The National museum of Scotland is beautiful and has really good access throughout including multiple wheelchair accessible bathroom facilities and also a changing places. The only issue we had was how busy the lifts are. Although there are multiple lifts throughout the building, they are use extensively which means that wheelchair users, those with mobility challenges and parents with buggies can be left waiting more than 20 minutes. I would ask that staff put up signs by the lifts asking for customers who are able to, to take the stairs where possible. after being unable to access the left multiple times, I was forced to ask if anyone in the lift was able to get out and take the stairs. A number of people did, and I wonder if the signage was better, they may choose the stairs initially, therefore not requiring confrontation by those who rely on the lifts
