Overview
Absolutely fantastic facility for physically disabled sailors. We love Tracey and her team for the confidence building challenges on the water and all the fun and pleasure enjoyed by everyone, families and friends too.
Transport & Parking
Parking is on the flat with easy access to the water, either down a wide slipway and onto the wheelie boat through a bow door, or from a floating pontoon.
Access
Lots of help on hand. Emphasis on dignified access onto the boats, either straight onto the power boat from the slipway in the case of wheelchair users, or from a floating pontoon via ramps for other disabilities into sailing boats. Strong emphasis on safety.
Toilets
This is a small site and the loo is easily accessible.
Staff
Brilliant. Kind, qualified, patient, enthusiastic and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This accessible sailing/power boating school has been the brainchild of Tracey as an add-on to her existing business. In the short time it has been operating, she has successfully applied for and achieved grant funding and awards for the excellence of the school and the experience for her disabled clients. Its a great asset to the area for adults with disabilities, who are able to train for and take RYA qualifications should they so wish.
